Bakers Pride Countertop Ovens

I'm considering purchasing a used Bakers Pride countertop oven. I've got a outdoor oven for high temperature pizzas, but my home oven just isn't cutting it for New York and other lower temperature styles.

Will this oven perform comparably to the larger deck ovens? I'm not concerned about volume here. Most likely I won't ever make more than 3-4 pies at a time with this oven. I'm more concerned with bake quality. I've attached a pic of the model I'm considering.

I have 2 of these ovens and love them. They will loose a little recovery time when cooking several pizza in them but over all are great ovens. When I get a chance I will cook of the same pizzas at Tonys. One in a flat top Marsal and one in the table top Bakers Pride at the same temp and post the pics.. Will do after the new year..

Thanks! Great to know. Will likely get one this week. Now I just need to find a place to put it. :-)

Raj-
We started our business using these tabletop ovens. I highly recommend them. Great little ovens, as Tony mentioned they recover a little slower than a gas deck oven would but if you are looking to mimic a restaurant quality bake at home, this is the oven for you.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what temperature would you set this specific oven on to make a proper NY style pizza. Basically I would like to know what temperature do most NY pizzerias set their oven on and roughly how many minutes in order to get the crust right and not burn the cheese. Thanks!

Each oven is different. For New York Style pizzas, you'll want to go somewhere between 450-550. 450 is on the low end, but again, it depends on the oven. As for bake time, 8-12 minutes depending upon the heat of the oven and thickness of the dough.
