Deep Dish pizza pan

Is there anyone that can recommend a site where I can buy a good Deep Dish pan? There were some recommendations on The Pizza Bible, but I checked their sites and it seems is out of stock and probably won't ship to Puerto Rico.

Hi Felix,

You'll want to get a heavy gauge pans. The two most popular are Allied Metal and American Metalcraft.

As Leo mentions in the post below, you'll want at least a 16 gauge pan. I believe the lower the number, the thicker. I might be wrong on this though.

Also, Mike K. was nice enough to dig up a source for Allied Pans on this thread here:

Good luck and let us know what you find!

Thanks, I already checked those posts and for some reason I missed the post from Mike K. I will check if they ship to Puerto Rico. By the way thanks for fixing the title.

I think 22-gauge is too thin. That's probably more like a cake pan. It looks very similar to the deep dish pan, but since it's so thin, most likely, it'll cause burning.

Regarding size, keep in mind that deep dish pizzas tend be smaller in diameter than other styles. A typical deep dish restaurant will offer 10", 12" and 14" pies. The 14" is massive and ends up weighing several pounds once topped.

Raj & Felix,

Lloyd pans are excellent. Here's a link to 14 gauge pans in all different sizes.

Thanks for the link Mike. Although now I'm kind of confuse. I think is recommended on the book to no use aluminum. Sorry for keep making questions. I'm new to this and since shipping probably will be high for me I want to buy a good pan.

Also Mike what pans you bought from them the bare aluminum?
