last night, I did my first fully stuffed deep-dish pie under cruel conditions. Cruel? Yeah, cruel indeed because at the moment, I've lost my sense to taste due to my current cold - let me tell ya: this sucks big time!!!
In this respect, this will probably be the first post where the readers know just as much about how the pie tasted as the writer :P
I will do my best describing the taste as it's supposed to be :)
There's Gouda cheese at the bottom to prevent the topping from sogging the dough.
Heavy but full of flavor:
Then. there's a layer of Indian Kebab meat (Turkey ground meat) that's been spiced with cumin, chillies, green onions, minced garlic and ginger, yoghurt and roasted gram flour.
More light and sweet:
Next a layer of caramelized onions followed by the upper layer of dough.
Light and refreshing:
I baked it like this and after it was finished, I topped it with some african tomatoe Chutney (tomatoe, ginger, garlic, roasted cumin, Lemon, sugar, salt, pepper, chilli).
At least my wife said it was awesome :-)
