immersion blenders with canned tomato

Hi, I'm considering buying an immersion blender, but before I do, I have a question about using it in canned tomatoes.

I've been told that the seeds in canned tomatoes can be broken open when using an immersion blender, and that if the seeds get broken open, they can cause the sauce to become bitter.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, is there any way to reverse the bitterness? Maybe add some other ingredient to neutralize the bitterness?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tory,
I'm no pro, but I haven't run into any noted bitterness from blending the tomatoes seeds and all. If you want to avoid them though you could just strain them out before blending the tomatoes. For what it's worth, I love having an immersion blender and have found that it comes in very useful for preparing a variety of foods. I'd recommend getting a cheap bain marie to make my sauce in as well.

I just bought an immersion blender after seeing this done by many pizza professionals on youtube. I have yet to have any bitter flavor. Go for it!
