Is it bad to stretch dough using a rolling pin?

I've heard that it's bad to use a rolling pin to stretch out pizza dough. If I don't use a rolling pin, I have a hard time getting the dough thin enough. What are the pros and cons? Thanks.

The answer depends on the style of pizza you are making with your dough. If you are looking to make a thin-crust Chicago style, St. Louis style, or a Bar style pizza using a rolling pin is ideal. For most all other style you will want to use the stretching techniques that Tony recommend.

Best of luck to you!

How about ny style? Can I get away by using a dough sheeter?
