Larger baking steels

Anyone know where to get a larger baking steel? The largest on I've seen on Amazon, Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma is 14"x16". What I'm looking for is a 16"x16" or something where the smallest side is 16".

Not sure why stones and steels are made in a rectangular shape given most pizzas are round. I know, I know, people make pizzas of all shapes. :-)

The only thing i can think of is

http://www.bakingsteel.com/shop/the-big

You may have to go custom cast iron plate or buy two 14x16 steels and find someone who can weld them together.

Raj,

If you need bigger, go to a metal shop that. I had a steel before and it was custom-cut 18"x18". Not as pretty as the baking steels but it did the trick. Look for cold rolled steel.

I think I paid $45 for mine. Ditched it, though, because I didn't like the outcome.

I was thinking iron like a skillet but either will work

Oh and a pair of welding gloves might be handy to move it while hot

Bakingsteel.com does custom sizes. I just ordered a 16" x 16" a couple of months ago. It took about 4-5 from order to delivery.

Hello everyone,
This is Andris from the Baking Steel. I wanted to reach out and let you know that we do offer custom sizes. We've even done some rather large Baking Steels for commercial ovens. If you are interested, send me an email at andris@bakingsteel.com. Our custom steels generally take about 2 weeks to ship. We would love to help you create...
