Where to find tiles for pizza making instead of a stone

Tony mentions in his book to use, if possible, a large rectangular fire type tile instead of an actual (overpriced) pizza stone.does anyone have any sources for such a tile? I have checked with my local masonary supply stores and Lowes and Depot, to no avail. HELP!

Hi Ron,

What you're looking for is "unglazed quarry tile". I bought some a while ago and it was pretty easy to find. I think this is what you're looking for:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Daltile-Quarry-Tile-Red-Blaze-6-in-x-6-in-Ceramic-Floor-and-Wall-Tile-11-sq-ft-case-0Q40661P/202653720?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cTHD%7cG%7c0%7cG-BASE-PLA-D23-Tile%7c&gclid=Cj0KEQiAzai0BRCs2Yydo8yptuIBEiQAN3_lFp6282bSWa4fsdBv1dJ3LUvY-8zc3-7rYUzDzETgwV0aAvLO8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Any warehouse/supply shop place that sells tile, marble, or granite should carry it.

Raj

ps. I changed the title of your question to be more descriptive.

Thumb raji
