Yeast issues


So I'm in the process of starting my first dough and my yeast isn't behaving and floating.

First, second and third time I tried 80-84f water and mix well as per the master dough recipe.

Fourth and fifth time is the yeast package directions which is 100f water and 5g of sugar

Is there anything else I could try?

The fifth time, there was a bit of foam but a lot of dead yeast

Hopefully the sixth time will work

Get some new yeast. Sounds like yours is a dead one.

Sixth time seemed to work but we'll see, resting now for an hour before I put it to sleep in the fridge for 24 hrs

I've had some that seemed dead but ended up working just fine.
